Team

Meet the makers.

Overview

We asked our team to choose a piece of art that represents them. From Caravaggio to Emigre, from Swiss modernism to Memphis chaos. Different backgrounds, different influences, same high standards.

National Endowment for the Arts x COLLINS

Advocating For the Arts

COLLINS works alongside national advocacy groups to influence U.S. arts policy and increase federal funding for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Because a country’s capacity to innovate depends on more than just technology—it depends on imagination.

The data backs this up. According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, arts and cultural production adds $919.7 billion to the U.S. economy each year—4.3% of GDP—and supports over 5 million jobs. NEA studies show that every federal dollar invested in the arts generates $7 in matching funds, amplifying its impact through local and private support.

Despite this, the NEA receives just 0.003% of the federal budget. That’s a small investment with an outsized return.

We believe America’s long-term advantage lies not just in what it builds, but in what it imagines. And that requires sustained, systemic investment in the arts.

Key Areas of Advocacy

Economic Development
Creative industries consistently outpace broader economic growth, with states showing higher arts investment reporting increased tourism revenue and business attraction.

Innovation Infrastructure
Research demonstrates that regions with strong arts ecosystems attract higher concentrations of patents, startups, and technology sector investment.

Social Cohesion
NEA-supported programs reach every congressional district, serving over 200 million adults annually, with studies showing improved community outcomes in areas with active arts organizations.
